In Baku, Azerbaijan, cooperative houses have been built, and the operational life of the elevators installed in these houses has long expired. The number of such elevators is in the thousands.
Modern.az reports that this was stated by Ali Ahmadov, First Deputy Speaker of the Milli Majlis, during the discussion of the Cabinet of Ministers' report.
“Since the residents living in these buildings do not have the means to replace these elevators, I believe that if the government does not intervene in this matter, the replacement of these elevators will become a very difficult problem. At the same time, risks may arise in a very short period.”
Ali Ahmadov also requested the Cabinet of Ministers to prepare a 10-year state program for the resolution of the problem.
