Last year, 1287 individuals living with HIV infection (human immunodeficiency virus) were newly registered at the Republican AIDS Control Center at the AIDS Control Center.
Modern.az reports that this was noted in the report of the Cabinet of Ministers for 2025.
Overall, 11,900 people are officially registered at the AIDS Control Center in the country.
It should be recalled that Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) – is a chronic infectious disease characterized by the gradual weakening of the immune system in the human p, leading to the development of various treatable complications and co-morbidities. The first person infected with HIV in Azerbaijan was detected in 1987.
