Iranian authorities have increased the minimum wage by more than 60%.
Modern.az reports, citing local media, that the decision was made amidst the war with the US and Israel.
Previously, Iran had been engulfed in protests, accompanied by economic difficulties and lasting for months. The minimum wage is reviewed annually due to severe inflation. This inflation reached 48.6% in October last year and fell to 42.2% by December.
Amidst the war, it is difficult to assess its actual value. Now, the minimum wage will increase from 103 million rials to 166 million rials per month. This is equivalent to approximately 112 dollars in black market currency.
