The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has announced the complete closure of its airspace.
Modern.az reports that the UAE General Civil Aviation Authority issued a statement regarding this.
The authority assessed the closure of the airspace as an “exceptional precautionary measure” aimed at ensuring the safety of flights and aircraft crews, as well as protecting the country's territory amidst “rapidly changing events in the field of regional security”.
Previously, the UAE Ministry of Defense had stated that this step was a response to a possible new wave of attacks by Iran.
According to information, on Monday, Dubai International Airport temporarily suspended its operations after an unmanned aerial vehicle damaged a fuel tank near the airport. Although a fire broke out as a result of the incident, the flames were later extinguished. No injuries were reported.
