The military operations carried out by the US and Israel against Iran since February 28 have dealt heavy blows to the country's military-political elite. According to information disseminated in various sources, a number of high-ranking Iranian military and security officials have been killed or neutralized as a result of the strikes. These events have seriously affected the balance of power in the country and raised new questions regarding the decision-making mechanism.

Modern.az presents a list of high-level individuals killed during the US-Israel attacks.

Seyyed Ali Khamenei

One of the main figures targeted in the early days of the war was Iran's Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei. Considered the country's most powerful political and religious figure for many years, Khamenei stood at the center of all of Iran's strategic decisions. His killing has created a major upheaval in the country's political system and formed a serious vacuum within the government.

Aziz Nasirzadeh

Among the losses in the military leadership is Iran's Minister of Defense, Aziz Nasirzadeh. He was considered one of the figures who played a significant role in the formulation of Iran's defense strategy and the country's military modernization programs.

Mohammad Pakpour

Mohammad Pakpour, considered one of the high-ranking commanders of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, one of Iran's main military structures, is also listed among those killed as a result of the strikes. As the head of the IRGC Ground Forces, Pakpour played a significant role in military operations in the region.

Ali Shamkhani

Ali Shamkhani, one of the important figures in Iran's security system, participated in the formation of the country's security strategy for many years. He was also considered one of the figures close to the supreme leadership and played an influential role in Iran's regional policy.

Abdolrahim Mousavi

Abdolrahim Mousavi, who served as the Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, is also noted as one of the military leaders targeted in the attacks. Mousavi was one of the key individuals responsible for the operational planning of the Iranian army and the adoption of strategic military decisions.

Ali Larijani

According to the Israeli side's claim, Ali Larijani, who held an important position in Iran's security structures, was also killed as a result of the strikes on Tehran. He was considered one of the figures who had served in various high-ranking positions in Iran's political system for many years and participated in the formation of security policy.

Gholamreza Soleimani

The "Basij" organization is considered one of the largest paramilitary networks that performs functions of ensuring security within Iran, mass mobilization, and ideological control. This structure plays a significant role in both internal security and in maintaining Iran's sphere of influence in the region.

Gholamreza Soleimani was also killed during the attacks carried out by the US and Israel against Iran in March. His death is considered a serious loss to Iran's security system, as he was one of the key figures in managing the "Basij" forces, which possess an extensive organizational network within the country.

According to experts, these losses have seriously impacted Iran's political and military governance system. Traditionally, decisions in the country were distributed among the supreme religious leadership, security structures, and the military elite. However, in the current situation, it is noted that the balance of power is increasingly concentrated in the hands of military structures—especially the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
