A person who blackmailed the President's family has been exposed by the State Security Service (SSS). The person, whose name was not disclosed and face was not shown due to the absence of a court verdict, confessed from whom they obtained fake videos and photos. He stated that he contacted Mehman Huseynov, a blogger living abroad, and then obtained those photos and videos from Elman Mammadov and Mammadzaqi Salimov, who are close to him.
During the analysis of the photos, it was discovered that the images belonged to a woman named Amber Lulu.
Commenting on the events, the Chairman of the Human Rights Committee of the Milli Majlis, Zahid Oruc, told Modern.az that the rampant activities of those defeated on the battlefield are now clearly visible in cyberspace:
"The SSS, as a professional institution, has exposed the group involved in terror and blackmail. Terror media, with the help of artificial intelligence and foreign forces, has been used for many years as a blackmail technology in hybrid attacks against our state and supreme leadership. Now our people see what rampant activities those defeated on the battlefield are carrying out in cyberspace.
Currently, through deepfake technologies worldwide, people's faces, voices, and behaviors are rapidly copied and cloned, resulting in completely fake video and audio materials becoming widespread. Between 2019 and 2025, the number of deepfake videos and content on the internet and other information resources increased by 900 percent.
The main victims of deepfake attacks are social media assets – especially journalists, public activists, and prominent figures. Approximately 98 percent of the materials consist of immoral content, and in 79 percent of cases, the victims are women. Approximately 76 percent of deepfake content related to politicians and public figures aims to cause reputational damage and serve as anti-propaganda.
The spread of deepfake content is most observed on video and social media platforms: approximately 30 percent on the YouTube platform, 26 percent on Instagram, 19 percent on Facebook, and 18 percent on the Tik-Tok platform.
Surveys show that approximately 49 percent of users report encountering deepfake videos specifically on the YouTube platform.
Particularly, against the backdrop of global wars, the use of artificial intelligence technologies in coordinated information campaigns against our country has increased in the last 20 days.
Through artificial intelligence tools, a one-minute deepfake video can be prepared in less than 25 minutes and almost without any cost.
Forces that cannot accept the victory of the Azerbaijani state in the Patriotic War, and circles defeated on the battlefield, are waging a hybrid war against our country through fake and deepfake technologies.
The vast majority of unreal audio, video, and photos are prepared and disseminated in foreign countries. "Made in Azerbaijan", "Azerfreedom", "Azad söz" and dozens of treacherous channels are anti-national evil technologies".

The committee chairman added that Azerbaijani judicial bodies have rightly issued relevant verdicts regarding these subversive platforms. However, just as terrorism has a transnational character, inter-state cooperation is essential to prevent such international crimes based on artificial intelligence:
"The Azerbaijani state can initiate the preparation of relevant international conventions to curb artificial intelligence products directed against individuals, states, and societies.
Finally, let us reiterate that there is a need for a separate Code on artificial intelligence. The European Union has prepared model documents and categorized the risks.
We should also note that the phrase “unreal” used in the project fully encompasses the meaning of the terms “fake” and “deepfake”. The introduction of such international terms into our legal acts does not harm the purity and sovereignty of our language".
