Rafael Sergeyevich Gvaladze, former judge of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Azerbaijan, passed away on January 15, 2026, after a long illness.
According to Modern.az, this was reported by the deceased's relatives.
As a prominent Azerbaijani jurist, Rafael Gvaladze successfully served in responsible positions for many years in the direction of legal state building and increasing the efficiency of justice, dedicating more than 50 years of his life to the implementation of judicial power in our country.
During his period of activity, Rafael Gvaladze was awarded the honorary title of “Honored Lawyer” of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and was awarded the “Honorary Diploma of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan” and the 1st degree “For Service to the Fatherland” Order.
His son, Otari Gvaladze, is currently a judge of the Constitutional Court.
