The Speaker of the Milli Majlis, Sahiba Gafarova, has suffered a heavy loss.
According to information obtained by Modern.az, Sahiba Gafarova's brother has passed away. Although there is no detailed information about the incident, it is reported that the deceased lived in Baku.
It should be recalled that Sahiba Gafarova has been the Speaker of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan since March 10, 2020.
She was born on March 19, 1955, in the city of Shamkir. She graduated with honors from the Faculty of Russian Language and Literature of the Azerbaijan Pedagogical Institute of Russian Language and Literature and the Faculty of English Philology of Azerbaijan University of Languages. She holds a Doctor of Philological Sciences degree and is a professor. She is an Honored Teacher. She served as a deputy of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the fourth and fifth convocations. She is the head of the Azerbaijani delegations to the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic-speaking Countries and the Interparliamentary Assembly of the CIS.
She is married with 2 children.
