By the Order of President Ilham Aliyev, a group of individuals has been awarded for their services in strengthening friendship among peoples and developing the Azerbaijani diaspora.
Among those awarded with orders are the renowned physician Masud Ashina and writer Ziya Zakir Acar.
Modern.az reports that Masud Ashina was awarded the “Shohrat” Order, and Ziya Zakir Acar was awarded the “Dostlug” Order.
Professor Dr. Masud Ashina was born in Azerbaijan in 1965. He graduated from Azerbaijan Medical University in 1988. In 2003, he specialized as a neurologist at the University of Copenhagen and defended his doctoral dissertation. Completing his education under the guidance of Jes Olesen, one of the most significant specialists in the field of headache, he remained at the same university due to his high achievements and successfully continued his academic career. He served as President of the Danish Headache Society, Secretary-General of the European Headache Federation, and President of the International Headache Society from 2019-2021. Currently, he works as the Director of the Human Migraine Research Center. We sincerely congratulate our colleague Professor Dr. Masud Ashina on this occasion and wish him continued success!
Researcher-writer Ziya Zakir Acar was born on November 6, 1954, in Iğdır province, Turkey. Ziya Zakir Acar is a renowned researcher-writer, publicist, poet, artist, and cultural figure active in Turkey's Iğdır region; he has significant scientific, literary, and historical works related to Azerbaijan, and is particularly known for his works promoting the culture of Iğdır, and is also the chairman of the "Iğdır-Azerbaijan Language, History, and Culture Unity Preservation and Support Association". He has also been awarded by the Azerbaijani state for his support for Azerbaijan and his historical research.
