Another change has occurred in the French political scene. President Emmanuel Macron has officially appointed Sébastien Lecornu as the new Prime Minister.
Modern.az reports that this information was disseminated by the Élysée Palace. Lecornu, France's former Minister of Defense, has been represented in the government since 2017 and is considered one of Macron's close allies.
It should be noted that former Prime Minister François Bayrou has resigned.
The statement released by the Élysée Palace indicates that Macron has asked the new Prime Minister to hold consultations with political forces represented in parliament and to establish agreements regarding the adoption of the state budget and the making of important decisions for the coming months.
The new appointment has been sharply criticized by the opposition.
