A significant turning point has occurred on the political scene in France: Prime Minister François Bayrou's government was defeated in a parliamentary vote of no confidence.

Modern.az reports that, according to the results of the vote held in the National Assembly, 364 deputies did not express confidence in the government, only 194 voted in favor, and 15 remained neutral. A total of 558 deputies voted.

Following this result, a brief statement issued by the Élysée Palace on September 8 announced that President Emmanuel Macron acknowledges the fall of the government and will appoint a new prime minister as soon as possible. According to the information, Macron will receive François Bayrou tomorrow and accept the resignation of his government.

Left-wing leader Jean-Luc Mélenchon assessed the outcome of the vote as a victory for the people and stated that President Macron should also resign. He shared these thoughts on the social network X (formerly Twitter), making an open call to Macron: “It's time to go”.

Meanwhile, Marine Tondelier, leader of the Ecologists Party, stated that the new prime minister must come from the ranks of the New Popular Front (NFP) and emphasized that her party is ready for this. Gabriel Attal, leader of the presidential party, suggested that the president appoint a negotiator and stated that he himself is not a candidate for this position.

Speaking after the vote, François Bayrou said that he had deliberately taken this political risk. “With the President's consent, I myself wanted this test – a moment of truth as head of government,” Bayrou stated. “Some of you may think this was a wrong step, but I believe quite the opposite,” he added.

In the streets, people are celebrating the fall of Bayrou's government. Bayrou's government will officially resign tomorrow morning at 08:00. Now, attention is focused on Emmanuel Macron's decision and who the next prime minister will be.

A new political era is now opening before France. Negotiations between the ruling party and the opposition will determine the country's future political landscape.
