The special services of Romania, Hungary, and the Czech Republic have neutralized a secret intelligence network established by Belarus in Europe.

Modern.az reports that the information was disseminated by the Security Information Service of the Czech Republic.

It was stated that the network was established by the State Security Committee (KGB) of Belarus, and its main purpose was to collect confidential information in Europe. Among the exposed individuals was a former deputy head of Moldova's special services (KGB). It is noted that he transmitted secret information to the KGB.

The Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs added that an employee of the Belarusian embassy has been declared "persona non grata" and will be expelled from the country for engaging in intelligence activities. The Ministry's statement emphasized that the misuse of diplomatic status for the activities of special services will not be tolerated.

The information also notes that Belarusian agents managed to establish a network by utilizing their freedom of movement within European territory.

It should be recalled that in March of this year, the Lithuanian Prosecutor's Office brought two citizens to court, accusing them of espionage in favor of Belarus.
