Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs has confirmed the abduction of former cultural attaché Amir Mousavi in Egypt.
Modern.az reports that Iran's MFA spokesperson Ismayil Baghaei stated this.
Baghaei noted that former cultural attaché Amir Mousavi was abducted in Egypt after entering the country with an Iraqi passport:
“This morning, we heard the news of Amir Mousavi's disappearance in Egypt. He is not currently a diplomat. He previously served as a cultural attaché. According to the information we have, Mousavi entered Egypt with an Iraqi passport. We will pursue this matter through diplomatic channels.”
