On September 10, special forces affiliated with the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine attacked one of the multi-purpose MPSV07 project vessels belonging to the Russian Black Sea Fleet in the Black Sea waters.
Modern.az reports that the information was disseminated by the Directorate itself.
According to the information, one of these types of vessels was commissioned in 2015, and its value is approximately 60 million US dollars. In total, the Russian fleet has four such vessels.
Multi-purpose MPSV07 project vessels are designed for underwater operations. They are equipped with modern equipment, including underwater diving complexes, remotely operated vehicles, and radio-electronic intelligence tools. The vessels are also used for seabed research and monitoring.
The Ukrainian side reports that the vessel sustained serious damage as a result of the operation. The Russian side has not issued an official statement regarding the attack.
