Armenian Justice Minister Srbuhi Galyan refused to share her views on the fate of the country's Constitution's preamble.
Modern.az reports that during a briefing held after the government meeting, the minister was asked about constitutional reforms.
Galyan stated that new materials have been sent to the Council members, and the next meeting is planned for next week, by the end of September. According to her, work on drafting the text of the country's main document will be intensified to prepare the text within the specified period. The issue regarding the fate of the preamble, which includes a reference to the Declaration of Independence, has not yet been discussed.
Considering the briefing an inappropriate platform, the minister did not share her position on this matter.
It should be recalled that Azerbaijan's main demand to Armenia is the amendment of that country's Constitution. The preamble of the Armenian Constitution contains a territorial claim against Azerbaijan. Official Baku demands the removal of that provision for the signing of a peace agreement.
