The Georgian Prosecutor General's Office has brought official charges against Levan Khabeishvili, the former leader of the “United National Movement” party, founded by the country's former president Mikheil Saakashvili.
Modern.az reports that prosecutor Beka Kvitsiani made this statement to local media.
According to him, Khabeishvili is accused of “openly calling for the violent overthrow of state power.”
It is alleged that, starting from June 2025, he called on citizens on television broadcasts and social networks to violently change the government, even specifying a concrete date and location.
It should be recalled that on September 11, the Georgian State Security Service announced the arrest of former Defense Minister Juansher Burchuladze on corruption charges. It was also reported that Khabeishvili was detained on the same day.
