Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky called all statements about Russia gaining an advantage on the eastern front “disinformation” and stated that Moscow is compensating for its military failures with information attacks.
Modern.az reports that Zelensky made these remarks at the YES 2025 annual conference, organized at the initiative of Viktor Pinchuk.
According to him, the numerical superiority of the Russian army and its use of drones complicate the situation, but Ukraine maintains control over the front line and stops the Russian advance:
“The Russians are conducting their disinformation campaign better than on the battlefield. If they talk so much about the east, it means they will be destroyed precisely there. In a day or two, we will hear completely different information.”
Zelensky stated that although Moscow is increasing pressure, all attacks in the Sumy, Novopavlivka, and Pokrovsk directions have been crushed within two months.
Zelensky also responded to the alleged statements that “they will capture the east in three months”:
“As I heard in the White House, the claim that they will occupy the east in three months is a lie. They will not be able to do this even in years. But no one wants to wage war for years.”
According to the President, the Kremlin relies more on information attacks, because it cannot achieve success on the battlefield.
