The court case regarding the annulment of the results of the 38th congress of the Republican People's Party (CHP) continues today.
Modern.az reports that the court proceedings will be held at the Ankara court.
The court case holds significant importance for the future of the party and Turkish politics. According to allegations, delegates' votes were bought for bribes at the congress held on November 4–5, 2023. On this basis, former Hatay Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Lütfü Savaş and a group of delegates appealed to the court. Cases opened in separate courts were later merged at the Ankara court.
The complaining party demands the complete annulment of the congress results, the removal of the current chairman Özgür Özel and his team from office, and the reinstatement of former chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu's leadership.
