Israel's Jerusalem District Court found 22-year-old ultra-Orthodox Jew Elimelech Stern guilty of working for Iranian intelligence.
Modern.az reports that The Jerusalem Post published information about this.
During the investigation, it was determined that Stern contacted an Iranian agent via “Telegram”, received instructions from him, and obtained payment in cryptocurrency. His activities included posting political posters and delivering money.
According to the information, he was also given tasks such as setting forests on fire and committing murder. Although Stern refused to carry out these dangerous instructions, he accepted most of the remaining tasks.
The investigation also revealed that Stern involved two other Israelis in these activities. The court stated that the accused understood the hostile nature of his contacts.
The decision regarding the type and duration of the sentence has not yet been announced.
