The Collective Security Treaty Organization (KTMT) cannot ensure Armenia's security.
Modern.az reports that Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated this at the international conference "Comprehensive Security and Resilience 2025".
He noted that in previous periods, the main means of ensuring external security were considered military-political alliances and the army, but experience showed that this approach did not work:
"Specifically, there have been three failures regarding the KTMT issue. The KTMT treated Azerbaijan equally as a "brotherly country" and recognized Azerbaijan's territorial integrity. However, it was not possible to see the same approach for Armenia".
The Prime Minister recalled that in May 2021 and September 2022, Armenia appealed to the KTMT:
"During the Second Karabakh War, Armenia appealed to the KTMT for military support. However, the KTMT did not respond to Armenia's appeal".
