Will the US Senate recognize Palestine?

US senators have submitted a resolution to the Senate regarding the recognition of Palestine's independence.

According to Modern.az, the author of the resolution is Senator Jeff Merkley from the Democratic Party.

Independent Senator Bernie Sanders and six other Democrats have supported the resolution.

The resolution is unlikely to be adopted in the Senate, where the Republican Party holds a majority.
