Armenian blogger, author of the "SisMasis" "Telegram" channel, Samvel Karapetyan, has been deprived of Russian citizenship.
Modern.az reports that Karapetyan announced this on the "SisMasis" "Telegram" channel.
He stated that in May, he received a notification regarding the revocation of his Russian citizenship. The Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs cited posing a threat to national security as the reason. The blogger was not provided with copies of the decisions or any explanations.
It is noted that this is the first time a deprivation of citizenship has occurred despite the individual being born in Russia.
