A number of world leaders and foreign ministers have declared their support for US President Donald Trump's peace plan for the Gaza Strip and their readiness to cooperate in halting military operations in the enclave.

Modern.az reports, citing foreign media, that heads of state have announced their positions on this matter.

"We call on all parties to unite and work with the US administration to implement this proposal," said British Prime Minister Keir Starmer.

He believes that the Palestinian Hamas movement must accept the US plan, lay down its arms, and release the remaining hostages.

Keir Starmer noted that the United Kingdom is ready to work with its partners "to ensure a lasting peace where Palestinians and Israelis can live side-by-side in security."

Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni also welcomed the US proposal, stating that it "could be a turning point allowing for a permanent cessation of hostilities, the immediate release of all hostages, and full and safe humanitarian access for civilians."

French President Emmanuel Macron stated on the X social media platform that he expects "Israel to take decisive steps on this basis."

"Hamas has no choice but to immediately release all hostages and adhere to this plan."

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, in turn, praised Trump's efforts to achieve a ceasefire in Gaza.

"I appreciate US President Donald Trump's efforts to stop the bloodshed in Gaza and achieve a ceasefire," Erdoğan wrote on his X social media account.

He added that Turkey will continue to support the diplomatic process and is committed to promoting "a just and lasting peace acceptable to all parties."

The foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia, Jordan, UAE, Indonesia, Pakistan, Turkey, Qatar, and Egypt issued a joint statement affirming their confidence in Trump's ability to find a path to peace.

"The ministers reaffirm their commitment to positive and constructive engagement with the United States and the parties to finalize the agreement and ensure its implementation in a way that guarantees peace, security, and stability for the peoples of the region," the joint statement said.
