Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan had a heated debate with Gegham Manukyan, a deputy of the opposition “Armenia” faction and a member of the “Dashnaktsutyun” party, during the government hour in parliament.
Modern.az reports that the reason for the debate was the deputy's skepticism regarding the content of the declaration signed by the leaders of Azerbaijan and Armenia in Washington on August 8.
Manukyan also raised questions about the financial sources of the “Civil Contract” party led by Pashinyan. In response, Pashinyan accused the deputy of lying and criticized him for refraining from calls for revolution:
“In the last 7 years, you have called for revolution 87 times. But after the Washington Declaration, you have been silent. If everything is so bad, why are you still in parliament? Go, make a revolution in the streets. Are you not ashamed to sit here in soft armchairs?” – Pashinyan stated.
The Prime Minister then accused the “Dashnaktsutyun” party of engaging in clandestine activities and receiving financial support from foreign countries:
“I believe that funds are brought to you in suitcases from the budgets of some countries. You do not only receive a salary from the Republic of Armenia,” – he emphasized.
