Russia is increasing its attacks on Ukraine's gas and energy infrastructure as the winter season approaches, but international reactions remain weak.
Modern.az reports that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated this in his video address.
“Russia is inflicting massive strikes against Ukraine and no longer even tries to conceal its objectives. The absolute majority of targets are civilian objects — ordinary infrastructure, energy facilities, civilian enterprises, warehouses, especially those storing civilian products. At the same time, logistics are under attack — railway transportation, meaning systems that ensure the normal functioning of the economy. Dozens of residential buildings have also been damaged,” – Zelensky noted.
According to the President, despite what is happening and the increasing scale of the strikes, there is still no “fitting and strong reaction” from the world.
“This is precisely why Putin behaves this way: he simply laughs at the West, its silence, and the lack of an adequate response. Russia has rejected all proposals to stop the war or at least reduce the attacks. It is openly trying to destroy our civilian infrastructure — especially our gas system, energy production, and electricity transmission before winter. The real reaction from the world, however, is zero. We will continue our struggle so that the world does not remain silent and Russia feels accountable for its actions,” – Zelensky emphasized.
