US Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated in a statement after Hamas responded to US President Donald Trump's Gaza plan that “The war in Gaza is not over yet; there is still a lot of work to be done”.
Modern.az reports that he said this while speaking on the “Meet the Press” program broadcast on NBC television.
Rubio noted that “We have not yet reached the end of the war in Gaza”.
Speaking about the release of hostages in Gaza, Rubio said: “We will very quickly understand whether Hamas is truly serious about this matter, and how these technical negotiations are progressing from a logistical standpoint.” He reiterated that the United States wants the hostages to be released as soon as possible.
Rubio added that the second part of the plan, which includes the disarmament phase, will not be easy.
