The names of the countries with the longest working week in Europe have been announced.
Modern.az reports that, according to Eurostat data for the second quarter of 2025, the most industrious workers on the continent are residents of Turkey, Serbia, and Montenegro.
According to the ranking, the average working week in Turkey is 44.1 hours. It is followed by Montenegro (43.1 hours) and Serbia (41.8 hours). The top five also include Bosnia and Herzegovina (41.3 hours) and Greece (41 hours).
Among the countries with the shortest working week, the Netherlands (31.5 hours) ranks first. It is followed by the United Kingdom (31.9 hours), Denmark (33.7 hours), Norway (34.6 hours), and Germany (34.7 hours).
The data indicates that the average figure is the same in Switzerland, Ireland, and Austria – 35.8 hours.
