Turkey will join an international working group that will monitor the implementation of the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip.

Modern.az reports that this was announced by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

He stated that Ankara will participate in the restoration efforts of the enclave.

According to Reuters, the working group includes Turkey, as well as the US, Qatar, Egypt, and Israel. The Turkish delegation also participated in the Israel–Hamas negotiations conducted based on US President Donald Trump's 20-point peace plan.

According to the information, Turkey will also be involved in the formation of a separate group. This group will work on finding and returning the bodies of Israeli hostages who died in Gaza.

At the same time, European countries are also discussing the possible deployment of peacekeeping forces to Gaza. According to Sky News, a meeting of foreign ministers from several European states will be held in the French capital on Thursday to discuss ways to stabilize the post-war situation in Gaza.

It should be recalled that the ceasefire regime between Israel and Hamas came into force on October 9. The first phase of the agreement, brokered by the US, envisages the release of all hostages and the withdrawal of Israeli troops to agreed positions.
