Admiral Brad Cooper, head of U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM), stated after his visit to the Gaza Strip that American troops will not be deployed in the region.
According to the admiral, the U.S. does not plan a military presence in Gaza for the purpose of overseeing peace agreements.
“We are working on establishing a Civil-Military Cooperation center under CENTCOM's leadership. This center will coordinate activities aimed at ensuring stability in the post-conflict period. All these efforts will be carried out without the presence of American troops in Gaza,” Cooper stated.
Modern.az reports that he announced this on the “X” social platform.
According to "Fox News", Admiral Cooper visited an Israeli military base in Gaza together with U.S. President's special envoy Stephen Witkoff. The purpose of the visit was to assess on-site compliance with the terms of the ceasefire.
