Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi awarded US President Donald Trump with the country's highest state order, the “Order of the Nile”.
Modern.az reports that the Cairo leadership announced it made this decision due to Trump's “contribution to peace efforts in the Middle East and especially to the cessation of the Gaza conflict”.
Israeli President Isaac Herzog also decided to award Trump with the Presidential Medal of Honor.
The official statement notes that the decision was made due to Trump's “unwavering support for the State of Israel, his unique contribution to the security of its citizens, and his efforts to create an era of peace and cooperation in the region”.
The Israeli side stated that the medal presentation ceremony will be held in the coming months, and that the time and place will be announced later.
