US President Donald Trump announced the signing of a peace agreement in the Middle East at the summit held in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt.
Modern.az reports that in his speech, he emphasized that this document is a “historic turning point” for the region.
Touching upon the essence of the signed document at the beginning of his speech, Trump stated that it is “a comprehensive document that combines numerous rules, mechanisms, and agreements”.
“This is not just a treaty. This is the answer to the prayers of millions of people. Finally, we have achieved peace in the Middle East,” – he noted.
According to Trump, the agreement reached is not only the end of the Gaza war but also “a new beginning” for the region.
“From this moment forward, we can build a strong, stable Middle East that rejects the path of terror,” – he added.
The US leader acknowledged that the negotiation process was difficult and emphasized the role of “tough-minded leaders” in this process:
“I prefer tough people over soft ones. I don't know why, maybe it's a matter of character".
He also emphasized that the new agreement would receive strong financial support:
“Behind all these people, there is a lot of money and power. I like this, because now they are behind us.”
In addition to Trump, several leaders from regional countries also participated in the summit held in Sharm El Sheikh. The purpose of the agreement is to end the war in Gaza and achieve regional stability.
