Former US President Joe Biden praised current President Donald Trump and his team on social media for their work in achieving a ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip.
Modern.az reports that Biden wrote on X:
"I am relieved that this day has come. I congratulate President Trump and his team.”
Biden also noted that his administration had worked hard to bring the hostages home and end the war.
"Now, with the support of the US and the world, the Middle East is moving towards a path of peace, which I hope will be lasting," the former president emphasized.
On October 13, US President Donald Trump announced the end of the Gaza conflict in his speech to the Israeli parliament.
After his speech in the Knesset, the US President traveled to Egypt for a summit to end the war in Gaza.
On October 9, the American leader announced that Israel and Hamas had signed an agreement on the first phase of a peace plan for the Gaza Strip. The American leader explained that this means the very rapid release of all hostages and the withdrawal of Israeli troops to the agreed line.
Later, the office of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi announced that a summit on a ceasefire in Gaza would be held on October 13 in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt. Leaders from 20 countries were invited to participate in the summit.
