Steve Witkoff, the U.S. President's special envoy for resolving the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, plans to leave the Donald Trump administration soon.
Modern.az reports that the publication "Middle East Eye" disseminated this information, citing two sources.
According to sources, Witkoff intends to dedicate more time to his own business after the “exhausting” schedule of his diplomatic activities. Currently, he oversees issues related to the peaceful resolution of both the Israel–Palestine and Russia–Ukraine conflicts within the U.S. administration.
The publication has not disclosed the exact date of the envoy's resignation, but "The Times of Israel" reported at the end of September that Witkoff might leave his post in late 2025.
His tenure as special envoy is approximately 130 days, but this period may be extended depending on future plans.
Former U.S. Ambassador to Israel, David Friedman, highly praised Witkoff's activities in the Middle East, stating: “He deeply understands Israel, its strategic importance to the U.S., and its potential to create stability and prosperity in the region.”
