Armenia has acquired new generation weapons.
Modern.az reports that Armenian Defense Minister Suren Papikyan stated this in an interview with local Public Television.
He stated that Armenia is diversifying its partnerships in the defense sector and is carrying out weapon procurement solely based on new generation technologies:
“Starting from 2022, we decided to diversify our defense relations. This process has now been completed, and we are only acquiring new generation weapons and military equipment.”
The Minister emphasized that these steps were taken not for the militarization of the country, but with the aim of increasing its defense capabilities.
“The Armenian army and its weapons will only be used to protect the country's territorial integrity and sovereignty. We have no intention of using armed forces beyond our borders", - Papikyan noted.
