"Sputnik Azerbaijan" chief editor Yevgeny Belousov left Baku after being released from arrest.

Modern.az reports that this was stated by Maria Zakharova, the official representative of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

It should be noted that a few days ago, the pre-trial detention measure chosen for Belousov was changed. By the decision of the Khatai District Court, the journalist was released to house arrest.

It should be recalled that in July of this year, “Sputnik Azerbaijan” employees Igor Kartavykh and Yevgeny Belousov were arrested for a period of 4 months by the decision of the same court. They were charged with fraud, illegal entrepreneurship, and legalization of property obtained through criminal means.

In October, the pre-trial detention measure against Igor Kartavykh was also replaced with house arrest. A few days later, he was released and sent to Moscow.
