Fighting has intensified in the besieged city of al-Fashir in Sudan's North Darfur region.
Modern.az reports that Aljazeera has disseminated information on this matter.
The paramilitary group known as the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) has announced that it has captured a military base, considered the last stronghold of the government-loyal Sudanese Armed Forces in the western region.
An RSF spokesperson stated in a declaration on Sunday that “our forces succeeded in liberating the 6th Division in al-Fashir, breaking the back of the army and its allies by establishing full control over this strategic military base.”
He described this event as a significant turning point: “By capturing the military base, we are achieving success on the path towards building the state in accordance with the aspirations of all Sudanese for freedom, peace, and justice.”
