In Shanghai, China, a “LiXiang” branded electric vehicle caught fire and burned within a few seconds while in motion.
Modern.az reports that the car suddenly ignited and was completely consumed by fire, turning to ash.
In the footage taken from the scene, the flames are seen starting from the front of the vehicle, and quickly engulfing the entire p. It is reported that the driver managed to exit the vehicle during the incident, and no injuries were sustained.
Experts do not rule out that the cause of the fire could be CATL's new “Qilin” type battery system. These batteries are used in the latest models of the “LiXiang” brand and are distinguished by their high energy density.
Currently, the causes of the incident are being investigated, and an official expert examination is being conducted regarding the battery system's compliance with technical safety standards.
“LiXiang” (Li Auto) is considered one of the fastest-growing electric vehicle manufacturers in China in recent years and uses hybrid energy systems in its new models to increase their long-range capability.
