Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky denied reports about Russia's alleged encirclement of Ukrainian troops in the Kupyansk and Pokrovsk directions.
Modern.az reports that the head of state stated this during a phone conversation with journalist Alla Mazur.
According to Zelensky, Russian generals reported to President Vladimir Putin that up to 5,000 Ukrainian soldiers were allegedly encircled around Pokrovsk and Kupyansk, but this does not correspond to reality.
“This is a complete lie. And it's not the first time,” – Zelensky emphasized.
He noted that the purpose of such information is to create panic and, especially for the US public, to form the impression that “Russia is advancing on the front.”
