Fewer than 10 heads of state will participate in the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP-30) to be held in Belém, Brazil.
Modern.az reports that the "Poder360" portal disseminated information on this matter.
According to the publication, the Brazilian leadership had previously announced the participation of 57 leaders. However, to date, only nine heads of state and government have officially confirmed their attendance.
These include South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, French President Emmanuel Macron, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, and other African and European politicians. Participants are expected to gather in Belém on November 6. This meeting is "dedicated to preparations" for the conference itself.
It should be noted that COP-30 will be held from November 10 to 21 in the capital of Pará state, in northern Brazil. The organizers announced that a summit, planned for November 6 and 7, will take place before the climate conference.
