The biographical film titled “Michael”, which tells the story of the legendary singer Michael Jackson's life, achieved a historic record before its release in cinemas.
Modern.az reports that the trailer for the film, directed by Antoine Fuqua, was viewed 116.2 million times in just 24 hours, becoming the most-watched music biography trailer of all time.
With the new record, the film “Michael” surpassed music films that previously held the top spot, such as “Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour” (96.1 million views) and “Bob Marley: One Love” (60.1 million views). The trailer garnered 30 million views in the first 6 hours alone, being watched 50 percent more than the “John Wick 4” trailer during the same period.
The trailer, whose full version will be shown in cinemas starting next week, features many moments from Jackson's childhood years to his most brilliant stage performances and scenes from his famous music videos.
Actors such as Nia Long, Colman Domingo, and Miles Teller starred in the film. The screenplay was penned by three-time “Oscar” nominee John Logan.
The film “Michael” is planned to be screened in cinemas worldwide in the coming months.
