The story of soldier Ramazan Yağız, who was martyred as a result of a military aircraft belonging to the Turkish Armed Forces crashing on the Georgia-Azerbaijan border, has saddened Turkey.

According to Modern.az, he was martyred himself a few hours after commemorating his fellow villager and childhood friend Emre Sevinç, who was martyred three years ago on November 11, 2022, on social media.

Ramazan is a resident of Çatalsöğüt village, located in the Sındırgı district of Balıkesir province. The news of the martyr reached his mother Ayşe Yağız at her home in Bursa province. Both his birthplace and the Küçükbalıklı neighborhood where his family lives have been decorated with Turkish flags.

On his social media account, Ramazan Yağız commemorated his friend Emre Sevinç, who was martyred on November 11, 2022, with the words: “May your place be in heaven on the anniversary of your martyrdom, my hero.” A few hours after this post, the news of his own martyrdom arrived. Emre Sevinç's father, Mehmet Sevinç, shared a photo of both martyrs on social media and wrote: “Did you agree to meet on the same day in heaven, my heroes? You are children of the same land, the same village.”

It has been revealed that martyr Ramazan Yağız voluntarily donated stem cells (bone marrow) 10 years ago. In June 2023, it was confirmed that his cells were compatible with a cancer patient, and a successful transplantation operation was performed at Ankara Bilkent City Hospital.

Ramazan Yağız's p will be laid to rest with a military ceremony in his native village.
