Armenia's “Hraparak” newspaper claims that Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has forbidden members of the ruling “Civil Contract” Party from divorcing.

Modern.az reports that, according to the publication, this information was conveyed to the editorial office from sources within the party.

The newspaper states that one of the party members approached Pashinyan, saying that he wanted to separate from his spouse and “start a new life.” However, the Prime Minister strongly objected to this and did not permit the divorce.

According to the information, Pashinyan justified his decision as follows: “Our divorce limit in the party has already been reached. No one else can divorce. This harms the party's image in the eyes of society”.

The publication writes that Pashinyan's stance has caused dissatisfaction within the ruling team. Official Yerevan, however, has not provided any comment on the matter.
