Russia's Ministry of Defense announced that a Su-30 type fighter jet crashed during a training flight in the Republic of Karelia.
Modern.az reports that while the aircraft was conducting a planned training flight, it crashed due to an unknown reason. The Ministry states that the flight was carried out without ammunition and the aircraft fell in an area not close to populated areas.
As a result of the crash, the two-person crew of the aircraft died.
According to information from Telegram channels close to security structures in Russia, the Su-30 crashed in a forested area — near the city of Petrozavodsk, close to the local airport. The causes of the incident are being investigated.
It should be noted that Su-30 fighters are multi-role combat aircraft and their price ranges between 35-40 million dollars.
