On November 16, the VII Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia will be held in Tashkent.
According to Modern.az, the leaders will gather to discuss the main directions of regional cooperation.
President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has been invited to the meeting.
The meeting will be attended by the leaders of Central Asian countries - President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev (host), President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, and President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
Against the backdrop of expanding cooperation between Baku and Central Asian states in political, economic, and transport spheres, President Ilham Aliyev's invitation to the meeting is an indicator of Azerbaijan's growing role in the region.
At the summit, issues such as the development of the Trans-Caspian corridor, energy security, increasing trade volumes, water resource management, digital economy, and regional stability are expected to be on the agenda.
