Within the framework of a prisoner exchange agreement, Israel today handed over the bodies of 15 Palestinians to the Gaza Strip.
Modern.az reports that this was stated in Al Jazeera's report.
On Thursday, the office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that Israel had received another coffin containing the remains of a hostage killed in the Gaza Strip. This brought the return of 25 of the 28 Israeli bodies held by Palestinians.
According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, Israel had previously returned 315 bodies as part of the agreement, of which 91 have been identified.
A ceasefire agreement between Israel and the Palestinian Hamas movement in the Gaza Strip came into force on October 10.
As part of this agreement, the Palestinian Hamas movement released 20 hostages held in Gaza since October 7, 2023, thus releasing all surviving hostages. In response, Israel released approximately 2000 Palestinian prisoners.
