In Chile, presidential and parliamentary elections will be held.
Modern.az, referring to foreign media, reports that the current head of state, Gabriel Boric, cannot be a candidate for a second consecutive term, according to the constitution.
Eight candidates will compete for the highest state office. According to public opinion polls, the main struggle will be among five politicians: Janett Jara, representing the ruling center-left "Unity for Chile" coalition; José Antonio Kast from the conservative Republican Party; Evelyn Matthei, candidate of the center-right "Chile Vamos!" coalition; Johannes Kaiser from the National-Libertarian Party; and Franco Parisi from the center-right People's Party.
In addition to the president, Chileans will also elect 23 senators and 155 deputies.
