Former Prime Minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina has been sentenced to death by a court.
Modern.az reports that she is accused of crimes against humanity.
Special tribunal judge Golam Mortuza Mozumder stated that the accused former Prime Minister committed crimes by ordering the use of drones, helicopters, and lethal weapons to suppress anti-government protests last year.
Approximately 1,400 people died in the incidents, most of them from the fire of security forces.
Sheikh Hasina did not attend the court, as she currently lives in exile in India. She sought refuge in this country after being removed from power in 2024.
