The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine confirmed the dismissal of Svitlana Hrynchuk from the post of Minister of Energy on November 19.
Modern.az reports that “UNIAN“ disseminated information about this.
According to the information, 315 deputies supported the decision.
Hrynchuk submitted her resignation application on November 12 amidst a corruption scandal that arose in the energy sector. She stated that there were no legal violations in her activities.
Previously, the Verkhovna Rada also confirmed the dismissal of Justice Minister German Galushchenko. 323 deputies supported the decision.
It should be noted that recently, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office exposed a large-scale corruption scheme in the energy sector. The investigation identified the existence of an organized group affecting strategic state enterprises, including “Energoatom”.
Businessman Timur Mindych, Justice Minister and former Energy Minister German Galushchenko, “Energoatom”'s Director for Security Dmytro Basov, and other officials are named in the scheme.
