Mazlum Abdi, commander of Kurdish forces in northern Syria, wants to meet with Abdullah Öcalan, leader of the PKK terrorist organization.
Modern.az reports, citing the Turkish press, that he stated that there is a need for direct dialogue with Öcalan, who is imprisoned on İmralı Island, to resolve some problems.
Mazlum Abdi said that he could also go to Turkey if necessary.
“If this will contribute to the solution of the problem, why shouldn't we go? We view it positively,” he stated.
Abdi stated that some issues concerning PKK members within Syria can only be resolved by Abdullah Öcalan. According to him, an exchange of views is currently taking place between Kurdish forces and Öcalan through letters.
