Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister Mnatsakan Safaryan commented on the possibility of a Turkish company participating in the “Trump route” (Zangezur corridor) project.
Moderm.az reports that the deputy minister stated in response to a question about whether Armenia would rule out the participation of a Turkish company:
"The parties must decide on this. Naturally, each side has its own approach. Everything will be resolved through consultations".
According to him, all decisions and company selection must be in line with the interests of the parties. However, first and foremost, an Armenian-American company must be established.
Safaryan said that active discussions are currently underway regarding this very issue.
It should be recalled that on August 8, in Washington, the leaders of Armenia, the USA, and Azerbaijan signed a joint declaration on the peaceful resolution of the conflict. Armenia has agreed to lease the “Trump route” (TRIPP) to the USA for up to 99 years. Through this route, a land connection will be established between the main part of Azerbaijan and Nakhchivan. The American side plans to lease the land where the Zangezur corridor will be built to a consortium responsible for infrastructure and management.
